The Federal grants and contracts environment is rapidly evolving, including the way the government views Indirect or F&A costs, and how they should be applied to grants. Since change is dynamic with this presidential administration, we will be sure to take the most current look at the newest pivots to Grants and Contracts Costing. In light of suggested reductions to indirect costs, we will explore opportunities for universities to pivot to direct charging for support costs, including sponsored projects administration, operations and maintenance, network costs, and much more. We will summarize at the evolution of the suggested changes and actual changes in the Federal regulations regarding indirect costs throughout the past year.

Abstract
The Federal grants and contracts environment is rapidly evolving, including the way the government views Indirect or F&A costs, and how they should be applied to grants. Biography
Ms. Feuerborn has over 26 years of experience in the university costing and sponsored agreements areas. Anne has worked for Maximus Higher Education for over 20 years, and assisting more than 90 universities and colleges, across all regions and cognizance. Anne has extensive expertise in Space Surveys, Facilities & Administrative Cost Proposals and Analysis, and Negotiations with HHS-CAS and ONR. Ms. Feuerborn also worked at Arizona State University for five years as the Manager of Cost Analysis developing the university’s F&A cost rate, managing the space survey process, implementing an effort reporting system, and managing the DS-2. Anne received her MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and her BA in Economics from Eastern Illinois University.
