This session is designed for those across the CSU system who are responsible for campus facility and real estate operations including property acquisition and project development. The session will explore the foundation of effective campus facility teams while clarifying jurisdictional roles, discussing the topic of state property versus auxiliary property, outlining how to engage the board of trustees and campus governance around facility initiatives. We will also discuss and provide real time examples of how strong partnerships with campus stakeholders can produce cost saving measures. We will also discuss the acquisition of real property, including due diligence requirements, risk assessment, and key factors to consider when acquiring property for campus and auxiliary use.

Biography
Patrice Griffith has over 25 years of experience in the field of residential, commercial and industrial real estate. She has managed and developed real estate throughout Northern CA in both the public and private sector having worked with dignitaries, state departments and major corporations. Currently, she is the Director of Real Estate Services at University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) in Sacramento, CA. She oversees all aspects of real estate services for UEI as they acquire and develop land, manage buildings as well as project manage tenant and campus dining improvements. She currently serves as the Past President for the Building Owners Managers Association in Sacramento, mentors college students from her Alma Mater California State University East Bay (CSUEB), and teaches courses on a number of real estate topics for BOMA Sacramento.

Abstract
Biography
Tania is a licensed architect and the current Director of Architecture and CSU Systemwide Building Official at the Office of the Chancellor. In this position she supports all CSU campuses on their capital projects, guiding systemwide approaches to project development while improving involvement and process ownership across all project stakeholders. She started her tenure in the CSU at Sacramento State as a Project Manager in 2015, working her way into roles as the Campus Architect, Director of Planning, Design and Construction and Campus Deputy Building Official. In those positions she led over $400 million is capital development, in addition to master plan developments for off campus properties like The Hub and Placer Center.
